Bell Ringing
Various times available Monday-Saturday starting Nov. 7 - Dec. 23, 2023.

Angel Tree
Every child deserves to experience the joy of Christmas morning. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of children around the River Valley each year. Once a child (0-11) has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with local donors in the community who purchase gifts of new clothing and toys. The gifts are distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree. Serving at The Red Shield Diner
Gather your friends, family, or co-workers and spend the evening cooking and serving for the guests who visit our Red Shield Diner. Our guests include both individuals and families who need a meal to sustain them daily or who need some extra help to make ends meet this month. Your team is responsible for bringing in food and preparing it for roughly 100 - 120 people. Please contact us at 479-783-6145 or liliana.sierra-robeldo@uss.salvationarmy.org to inquire about nights available to serve and the number of guests for which to provide food.
Donation Processing
The Salvation Army has two donation centers located at 2001 E. Main St. in Van Buren, AR and 3325 S. 74th Street in Fort Smith, AR. You can drop off clothing, housewares, and furniture at our store or call the Van Buren store at (479) 262-2826 for pick-up of large item donations. The Fort Smith store can be reached at (479) 551-2069 to schedule a donation pick-up. We appreciate volunteers and groups who are able to spend time helping us process donations to prepare for sale. Volunteer
Hundreds of people of all ages volunteer their time, talents, and resources to assist The Salvation Army's work each year in the River Valley. Opportunities include cooking/serving in the Red Shield Diner, helping at our Family Thrift Store, organizing food or shelter drives, assisting our office staff, joining the disaster relief team, bell ringing, assisting with the Angel Tree program, helping with youth programs, visiting nursing home residents, and more. Give
Financial donations are essential to continuing the mission of The Salvation Army in our community, and help us fulfill our promise of “Doing the Most Good.” From the few dollars dropped into the red kettle, to those who give annually to support the mission, each dollar is spent to further the mission in our local community. The Salvation Army also has many financial options to help you plan your estate through planned giving, wills, gift annuities, trusts, bonds, funds and stocks.
