The Salvation Army's Response to False Claims on the Topic of Racism

As you may have heard, some individuals and groups have recently attempted to mislabel our organization to serve their own agenda(s). They have made claims that we believe our donors should apologize for their skin color, that The Salvation Army believes America is an inherently racist society, and that our organization has abandoned its beliefs for one ideology or another.

We wanted you to hear from The Salvation Army directly that those claims are false, and they distort the very goal of our work.

We invite you to read The Salvation Army's full response to these claims here.

As we enter this Christmas season, The Salvation Army is committed as ever to fulfilling its mission “to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs, in His name, without discrimination.” We remain deeply grateful for the support of a generous public—people from all walks of life and from all parts of the country—who help us accomplish this mission for our neighbors in need.
