Yeagers Ace Hardware hosts Fan Drive this Saturday & Sunday at all locations

WHAT: The Salvation Army Summer Fan Drive is in full swing to collect new fans from businesses and individuals in the community. Locally owned Yeagers Hardware & Lumber is kicking off the event this weekend by hosting a “round up the change” program June 13th-21st to help purchase fans. Plus, this Saturday & Sunday, they are selling fans that go to The Salvation Army at a special $15.99 price (June 13-14).

Or, purchase a box fan for $15.99 at any Yeagers Hardware location in Fort Smith, Van Buren or Greenwood and the fans will be delivered to

The Salvation Army for distribution.

WHEN: Saturday, June 13 7:30am-6:00pm

Sunday, June 14 9:00am-5:00pm

Background: Each year the fan donation program helps those who are particularly vulnerable to the summer heat. The fans are distributed by the agencies based on individual agency criteria for serving elderly and low-income residents in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas.

Information: The Salvation Army will begin distributing fans to serve low-income families and senior citizens 65 and older June 17. Those needing assistance are encouraged to come to The Salvation Army located at 301 N. 6th in Fort Smith. Applicants must have a photo ID, proof of all members of their household and current proof of address (the proof must be dated within the last 30 days). Limit one fan per address. A person/household is eligible for a fan once every 2 years.

The Salvation Army is also accepting donations of new fans which can be dropped off at the main office located @ 301 N. 6th in Fort Smith. Donors will receive a tax receipt for that tax-deductible donation.
