A Shield Of Hope

At The Salvation Army of The River Valley, our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. We fulfill this mission in the greater Fort Smith area through a variety of Social Services programs including family sheltering services as well as hunger relief through food boxes and our community Red Shield Diner - a feeding program serving a hot dinner 365 days a year.  Other services include Christmas assistance including the Angel Tree and red kettle program, community youth and conservatory camps, disaster relief, elderly services, Christian counseling, evangelistic worship services, and utility assistance.
